In such cases a relatively large amount of fat is removed, so the result of the operation is very noticeable and the improvement significant. It is one of the facial beautification procedures.
Methods
In most cases chin liposuction uses one 3–4 mm incision on each side, hidden behind the back of the lower jaw, and one 3–4 mm incision in the middle under the chin. The incisions are made and hidden by anatomical structures in such a way that the scars are not visible after the operation.
Chin liposuction is performed either as a standalone procedure or in combination with other aesthetic procedures, the facelift in particular. During a facelift, chin liposuction is an excellent complementary method for “smoothing out” the neck and achieving a perfect neckline. Chin liposuction can also be combined with other aesthetic surgery procedures.
Anaesthesia
Depending on the size of the double chin and the amount of fat to be removed, chin liposuction is performed under intravenous or general anaesthesia. The patient sleeps during the procedure and it is painless.
Recovery
Post-operative recovery after this operation is individual and takes about one week. The stitches are removed on the tenth day after surgery, when the patient is also able to return to their everyday private and professional activities.
